There are multiple ways to access it, from easy to moderate/difficult. In recent years, a new trailhead near Shelburne Falls has been developed for what has been named the Fire Tower Trail. The rock fire tower, originally privately built circa 1909 for observational purposes and later commissioned for fire detection circa 1911, provides views in all directions.
