The officially unnamed 3,813 foot peak located north of North Twin Mountain, often referred to as the Peak Above The Nubble, is one of the one hundred highest in New England. The officially trailless, wooded summit features a strong directional view toward the Presidentials, Mt. Hale, Willey Range, and North Twin Mountain.

On September 6, 2008, accomplished classical music composer Ray Loring lost his life while descending from the peak on a hike with friends.
